Rose NyikuriEng. Rose Nyikuri is the Manager, Water Resources and Climate Change at the Water Sector Trust Fund (WaterFund), having joined the WaterFund in April 2007.

Eng. Nyikuri is a qualified Civil Engineer from the University of Nairobi (UoN), having graduated from UoN with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering. She is also a holder of Masters Degree in Water Resources Engineering and Management (MSc. WREM) from the University of Zimbabwe, and in 2015 a Diploma in Integrated Water Resource Management (IWRM) from Israel.

Eng. Nyikuri has a vast experience in the water sector, especially in the areas of Project Management for Water Supply, Sanitation and Water Resources Management. On joining the WaterFund, she successfully oversighted the implementation to completion of the 107 Community Project Cycle projects on Water Supply & Sanitation services that were being implemented by the Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) under the Kenya Water Sanitation Programme (KWSP) funding by the Governments of Sweden & Finland. Previously, Eng. Nyikuri has worked as a Resident Engineer for Water Supply Projects while at the Ministry of Water and Irrigation.

As Manager, Water Resources and Climate Change at the WaterFund, Eng. Nyikuri provides leadership of the function to the internal and other stakeholders. She oversights the appraisal of proposals from interested applicants, recommends their approvals for financing and oversees their implementation to successful closure. Among the development partners that Eng. Nyikuri has worked with in the financing of projects are DANIDA, International Fund for Agricultural Development, European Union, Government of Sweden, Government of Finland, the World Bank and Government of Kenya.

Eng. Nyikuri has a sharp focus and a deep passion for water catchment conservation and water resources protection activities, participating and positively impacting in the sector, countrywide and globally, through tours, exchange programmes and World Water Week events. To add to her achievements, her latest award is a Certificate in Strategic Leadership Development Programme (SLDP) from the Kenya School of Government (KSG).

Professionally, Eng. Nyikuri is a registered engineer of the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) and also a member of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK).
