Eng. Thomas M Nyang’au is the Manager, Commercial Financing / Urban Investments at the Water Sector Trust Fund (WaterFund), having joined the WaterFund in October 2018.
Eng. Nyang’au is a Professional Civil and Structural Engineer licensed to practice in Kenya. He holds an MSc in Civil Engineering (Transportation Engineering) from the University of Nairobi in 2019, a Master of Business Administration (Strategic Management) from the Kenya Methodist University in 2015 and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering (1st Class Honours) from the University of Nairobi in 2007.
Eng. Nyang’au has an immense experience in the water sector, energy sector and civil consulting practice in the areas of water and sanitation, structures and power infrastructure development. He has experience handling projects financed by Multilateral Development institutions mainly; the Germany Development Bank (KfW Bank), The World Bank (WB), African Development Bank (AfDB), French Development Bank (AFD), the China EXIM Bank and the India EXIM Bank amongst others.
As Manager, Commercial Financing / Urban Investments at the WaterFund, Eng. Nyang’au provides leadership of the function to the internal and other stakeholders. He oversights; development, financing and implementation of water supply and sanitation projects for low income urban areas through grants and commercial loans advanced to Water Service Providers (WSPs) by WaterFund and Commercial Banks in Kenya respectively.
Professionally, Eng. Nyang’au is computer literate, a Professional Engineer licensed by Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) and also a Corporate Member of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK).
